Neuroperceptual Practitioner

Become a Neuroperceptual
Practitioner.

The programme trains practitioners to navigate perceptual space — their own and their clients'. A shared theoretical Foundation, three application Tracks, and a Senior Practitioner pathway.

Programme structure

Three levels. One coherent progression.

Level 1

Foundation

The theoretical and methodological core. Six modules. Required for all practitioners. Available digital self-paced or Ian-led cohort.

Designation: Neuroperceptual Practitioner (Foundation)

Level 2

Practitioner

Application track. Three specialisations: Coaching, Organisational & HR, Leadership & Teams. Builds on Foundation. Annual CPD to maintain.

Designation: Neuroperceptual Practitioner — [Track]

Level 3

Senior Practitioner

Advanced application, peer supervision, licensed delivery of Foundation programme. Portfolio-based progression. Invitation or application.

Designation: Senior Neuroperceptual Practitioner (SNP)

Level 1

Foundation — Six Modules

The Foundation establishes the theoretical literacy and practical methodology that all Neuroperceptual Practitioners share, regardless of their application track.

01

Why Psychometrics Fails

The psychometricians' fallacy and Michell's analysis. The contextual stability failure. The Forer effect and what face validity actually proves. Why it depends is the correct answer and what it demands of a framework.

02

Predictive Processing: The Neuroscientific Foundation

Active inference, generative models, and the free energy principle. The Markov blanket as the perceptual boundary between inner and outer worlds. The constructed self — Seth's account of selfhood as controlled hallucination.

03

The Architecture of Perceptual Space

Lakoff and embodied conceptual structure. O'Keefe and Moser — conceptual and physical space share the same neural architecture. The Circumplexicon: how 369,000 English words distribute geometrically across twelve thirty-degree sectors.

04

Perceptual Selves, Arcs, and Aspects

The framework's operational core. How to read and navigate the Perceptual Circle in practice. The critical importance of contextual dynamism: none of the three constructs describes something fixed.

05

Contextual Assessment Methods

Why no questionnaire is required. Conversational assessment: following linguistic imagery, working with metaphor. Journal-based and observational assessment. Integrating multiple sources into a contextual perceptual map. Practice sessions.

06

Ethics, Application, and Professional Standards

The ethical responsibilities of a Neuroperceptual Practitioner. Informed consent and client communication. Boundaries of application. CPD requirements for Practitioner level progression.

Eligibility: minimum two years at Practitioner level, 100 hours of documented practice, all annual CPD requirements met. Portfolio-based assessment includes practice evidence, supervision record, a theoretical contribution, and a micro-teach of one Foundation module section.

Accreditation pathway

Professional recognition

Target — early

ICF Continuing Coach Education

ICF CCE accreditation allows practitioners to count the Foundation programme toward their ICF ACC, PCC, or MCC credentials. Being pursued for Phase 3 launch.

Target — early

Association for Coaching

AC recognition for CPD purposes makes the programme attractive to the large UK coaching population holding AC credentials. Accessible and strategically valuable early.

Target — medium term

British Psychological Society

BPS accreditation requires two completed cohorts with documented outcomes. The academic paper and Ian's organisational psychology background position the programme well.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need a psychology background to take the Foundation programme?

No. The programme is designed for coaches, HR professionals, L&D specialists, organisational consultants, and leaders with a professional interest in human development. The theoretical content is rigorous but accessible — you do not need a psychology degree to engage with it seriously.

Can I take a track without completing Foundation first?

No. Foundation is a prerequisite for all application tracks. The track content builds directly on the theoretical and methodological core established in Foundation, and cannot be meaningfully engaged with without it.

What is the founding practitioner rate and who qualifies?

The founding practitioner rate of £1,600 (versus the full rate of £2,400) applies to the first three Ian-led Foundation cohorts. Places are deliberately limited and the first cohort will be selected for professional range and seriousness of intent. If you are interested, join the waitlist.

Can I deliver the Neuroperceptual framework in my practice once I'm certified?

Yes — Foundation and Practitioner level certification licenses you to apply the framework in your professional practice. You are not licensed to deliver the Foundation programme to other practitioners until you hold Senior Practitioner designation and a current delivery licence.

Is the programme available for organisations to run internally?

Yes. Bespoke organisational delivery is available — see the For Organisations page. Senior Practitioners can also be licensed to deliver the Foundation programme within their organisations under an annual organisational licence.

What prior reading do you recommend?

Anil Seth's Being You (Faber & Faber, 2021) and Lakoff & Johnson's Metaphors We Live By (University of Chicago Press, 1980) are the most directly relevant. The white papers on this site provide the framework-specific context. The academic paper is available on SSRN for those who want the full theoretical treatment.

Ready to join the founding cohort?

Founding practitioner places are limited and deliberately selected. Join the waitlist and Ian will be in touch directly.
